Just a win-win solution to tap into different segments
Hasselblaid launches a wide range of pocket point and shot, mirrorless, FF without development cost, and Sony franchise the expertise and adding a powerful partner into E/A mount.
Hasselblaid would like to expand their market using their reputable name (even upper trench than Leica) tap into the mass market. It is a sensible choice to choose Sony, which have the top electronic and sensor technology. I think they can only choose Canon and Fujifilm to partner with (p.s. Nikon, Pentax who doesn't have sensor technology out, because they cannot resell their sensor to third party without Sony consent) Fujifilm won't partner with Hasselblaid because they are selling the same vintage/classic style.
I think Stellar (RX100) will be selling well....but hope Hasselblaid can shorten the development cycle and launch the product more timely to the market
