Shutter life
In reliability engineering, expected life is estimated using Weibull analysis. For most of the consumer products, the estimated life is normally the 90% confident interval from the analysis. That mean 90% of the population is expected to pass this life and 10% is expected to fail before this. The probability of sample to pass this level decreases with life in a log scale.
For a camera with expected life of 100,000, this is a very long life. Roughly about 380 shutter actuations every week for 5 years. |
